Roberta Larkin is replacing the leaded lights parts (13) of windows in our house to close to the original “Tudor” design and build. These panels are then inserted into double glazed units and installed by another firm. As part of this restoration she has completed a leaded light front door panel, which is now in place. We are delighted with the result and can’t wait to see the windows back to their original appearance. It’s a gradual process but well worth the wait. Watch this space.

What a fantastic day my mum and I had yesterday at one of Roberta’s Tiffany Glass workshops. Mum and I both had very different projects in mind, but Roberta was patient and accommodating and packed so much tuition into the 7 hours we had with her. From cutting, to grinding and soldering we covered off all the any processes involved in a simple and clear way. Mum ended up with a lovely celtic knot panel, while I achieved a long-held ambition to make a secondary glazing panel for a window in my home. We are both thrilled with the results and would thoroughly recommend Roberta’s workshop – the day flew in and we’re both exhausted but delighted!

I absolutely adore the lamp shade and side shades (after) tiffany,
I did not look for the repairs seriously but it was obvious that they
were very well done because the whole set looks stunning. I showed them to a friend on the way home after collecting them
and they would have been sold except that their new hall ceiling was just not high enough!!! Like I said! there is a debate going on as to whether
I get to keep them or sell them!!! They do look good hanging from my gallery ceiling!!

Church Window Work:
The light panels were created by removing damaged panels in the original church doors. With a new reception area being created the church wanted to combine the old with the new. Roberta restored the stained glass and lead work. These were then encased in the wooden frames made from pitch pine reclaimed from old pews. The beautiful panels are displayed in the north and south porches of St John’s Newtownbreda and are illuminated during Sunday worship

Refurbishing our new home we decided that a window in our dining area was crying out to be a stained glass feature. Inspired by some of the examples on the Larkin Glass Art website we met with Roberta and began a collaboration to make it happen. Roberta came up with some ideas that we developed. I attended the one day Tiffany glass course . It was a small friendly class so a wonderful way to learn new skills. Roberta repaired a leaded side light in our porch. This involved the removal of and retaining the original, 1930’s, slips to reuse which was not an easy task. The finished repair is an amazing job and has returned the panel back to it’s original glory, everybody who has seen the repair has commented on how well it looks.
I will be employing Roberta again to carry out a repair on the opposite side light and would not hesitate to recommend her services. All work is carried out in a professional manor and to a very high standard.

My mother’s much loved tiffany standard lampshade was expertly repaired by Roberta within a short time span and at a competitive price. The glass shade had detached from the vase cap due to the sheer weight of the shade, thus rendering it useless. Roberta, however, readily agreed to take on the task of repairing it to its former glory and thoroughly explained the process and cost involved. Cleaning, application of copper foil, and soldering were involved and when she returned it, the expertise of her work was apparent. She also reinforced the shade by means of a ‘spider’ with the aim of providing extra support. My mother was delighted to have dealt with Roberta who is a friendly, efficient worker in her trade. We would have no hesitation in recommending her for anyone wanting a job of this type well done. Many, many thanks Roberta.

Tiffany Glass 1 day Workshop –

Roberta took a small group of complete novices and led us patiently step by step through each stage of the Tiffany Glass technique (and there’s quite a few!) until we had all produced stunning sun catchers to our own designs.

This is a full day course that flies by as you concentrate and enjoy each stage. Roberta’s patience, humour and skill made the whole process thoroughly enjoyable and incredibly satisfying when you walk away with a finished piece of glass art.

The stained glass panel is a very bespoke piece of art which we asked Roberta to commission. The design, colours, glass and frame were selected by ourselves under Roberta’s guidance to bring out the best in this external wall feature. As we live by the seaside the three yachts depicted represented not just the sea but also our family of three. We are extremely pleased with our finished art work and is proudly displayed on our front wall elevation for all to see, it should last a very long time. At night it takes on a whole new look when lit above by a soffit light.
The stained glass feature is approximately 400mm wide x 600mm deep and comprises of a backing mirror and a front protective glass layer surrounded in Iroko hardwood framing and coated with multiple layers of yacht varnish to protect it from the external elements

We live in an Old Manse, built in 1853 The inner vestibule has original stained Leaded Lights one of which was in very poor condition with some glass broken and missing which caused the lead work to sag.
I rang Roberta who came to inspect the damaged Leaded Lights the Same day.
Roberta explained how she would remove the window take it to her workshop restore it then return and re-fix the window.
Roberta completed the work and Re-installed the window. I wholeheartedly recommend Roberta for her glass restoration and lead soldering we are delighted with the quality of the restoration.

Roberta was a very friendly and experienced tutor and always took the time to explain and demonstrate each part of the process. All those who took part made beautiful suncatchers, and also worked together as a group to produce a suncatcher of our centre’s logo – the Lark.

Dear Roberta,

Eileen and I would like to thank you very much for all your work on the new stained glass window for our door.

It replicates exactly our landing stained glass thanks to your idea, design and colour matching. It is as if the window has always been part of the original house from 1890.

It also creates a real feature in the hall and our breakfast room, we cannot stop looking at the detail the way the light catches it all day, morning from the front and evening from the back.

We were really impressed by your professionalism, attention to detail and we could not be more pleased with the window and would highly recommend your work.

We had a great time making our Tiffany Style sun catcher. The training was informative and easy to understand. There was lots of support when needed, lots of designs to choose from and great for a group activity/workshop.
